Miguelina's story is the American dream. She is the first in her family to go to college, where she earned a law degree to fight for her neighbors and those without a voice. Miguelina has spent her legal career in dedicated service to New York City, the Bronx, and the Dominican communities from which she came. She will fight to ensure safe, affordable communities, support local and small businesses, and stand with workers.
Miguelina is dedicated to ensuring that the needs of local businesses are met as we recover from the pandemic. She will advocate for policies and initiatives that will allow mom and pop stores to make ends meet and flourish.
Miguelina will ensure that law enforcement has the resources it needs to keep our neighborhoods safe. She will work with community leaders and groups to address pressing issues and concerns.
As a State Senator, Miguelina will fight to protect the civil rights of all New Yorkers. She will work to strengthen our hate crimes laws and see that they are aggressively enforced so that the ideals of equality, respect, and equal treatment under the law are upheld.
Supporting Tenants & Homeowners
Miguelina knows every family deserves a safe, affordable home to live in. She will work to ensure that the laws that protect New York residents are actually enforced, so that unscrupulous landlords don’t illegally push long-time residents out of their homes. And she’ll support homeowners by keeping taxes down for middle and working class families and focusing on safety and affordability.
As a result of redistricting, New York will have two primary elections this year. The first election, which was on June 28th, included the races for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, comptroller, state assembly, and the U.S. Senate.
The second primary election, which will be on August 23rd includes congressional and state senate candidates.
