Kevin Riley

Democrat for City Council

District 12

Kevin C. Riley is a lifelong Bronxite, public servant, and proud champion for working families. As the New York City Council Member representing District 12 - covering neighborhoods including Baychester, Eastchester, Edenwald, Wakefield, and Williamsbridge - Kevin has made it his mission to ensure that economic growth benefits the people who call the Northeast Bronx home.

Kevin's path to public service was shaped by his deep roots in the community and a commitment to lifting others as he climbs. Prior to his election, Kevin served for over a decade in the City Council Speaker’s Office, where he helped craft legislation and drive resources to underserved neighborhoods. His behind-the-scenes experience gave him a front-row seat to how policy can — and should — work for the people.

Since taking office, Kevin has focused on economic development, youth opportunity, and smart housing policy. As Chair of the Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises and Co-Chair of the Black, Latino, and Asian caucus , Kevin plays a critical role in advocating for communities of color, has secured millions in funding for workforce development and job training programs,  and brings a voice for equity and accountability to every conversation.

Kevin is a strong supporter of labor, consistently advocating for union protections, project labor agreements, and the use of skilled trades on public works. He believes city investments must uplift communities, create long-term opportunity, and reward the people who build and sustain this city.
